Ruin of plastic founded in dirt rescue turtle

Remember the Green Turtle Chelonia mydas confiscated from the Denpasar Navy Base (LANAL) on Thursday (31/12/2021) at 04.30 WITA? Of the 32 green turtles, one has been slaughtered. The remaining 31 tails are deposited at the Turtle Conservation and Education Center (TCEC) Serangan until their legal status is established and can be released. How is it currently?

Examined by a veterinarian and x-rayed

Head of the Bali Natural Resources Conservation Center (BKSDA), R. Agus Budi Santoso, a few days ago said that his party requested that the legal process against the 21 suspects currently being held in Denpasar Lanal be accelerated. So that the Green Turtle can immediately be released into the wild. .

The 31 surviving turtles have been cleaned and X-rayed. A veterinarian will also be examined. The results of the examination from the veterinarian stated that they were ready to be released into the wild.

"Ready for release. So we also ask that later from the legal investigation process, if we can as soon as possible, we will release it to the wild,” he said recently.

A sign that Bali's natural ecosystem is improving

Agus Budi Santoso revealed that for the last 5 years he had not found Green Turtles in the waters of Bali. The turtle finding is even dominated by the Lekang Turtle. Therefore, the finding of the Green Turtle is at least good news that Bali's ecosystem is thought to be recovering.

"We rarely see the green turtle in the waters of Bali. We have not seen this Green Turtle for the last 5 years. In my opinion, the ecosystem has started to recover, so that other types of turtles besides the Lekang have started to come to the island of Bali,” he said.
